Andy’s Go-To Mix: I mix about 1.5 tablespoons of the dry clay mask powder and add in the same amount of apple cider vinegar. Add a little more if needed, to create a toothpaste like consistency. I also add a couple drops of organic Sea Buckthorn Oil and organic Clary Sage Oil to really activate the mask and nourish my skin. Let it dry. Hop in the shower and rinse it off. Follow with a cold water rinse to close the pores. Finish by applying the Alitura Moisturizer and get ready for greatness!
Is your product for all skin types? Yes. Even those with very sensitive skin find that it has a calming and soothing effect. The Alitura Clay Mask is gentle and nourishing.
My face is red. Is this normal and how long does it last? Every now and then we will get emails from customers that are understandably alarmed with the redness that they experience after an Alitura Clay Mask application. This is purely caused by the stimulating effects of the clays and Vitamin C content. That rosy glow is what I love (see pic below). It usually goes away within 45 minutes but please contact us with anything unusual or out of the ordinary!
How often should I use it? Your skin and schedule will determine the frequency with which you apply the mask. The “sweet spot” can be anywhere from 1 to 3 times per week. Allowing your skin cells time to recover and grow is important, so limit your usage to no more than every other day.
Is it okay if it gets in my hair? Absolutely – it is encouraged. The mask has many ingredients that are known to nourish the hair, and their circulation-promoting qualities are just as beneficial for hair follicles as skin. Try massaging it into your scalp and rinsing with a refreshing liquid soap from the Dr. Bronner’s brand. Hair can take on a fuller appearance and increased manageability. You may never need shampoo again.
Can I add a personal touch to the scent with essential oils? Yes! During the mixing process, you can add 2 to 3 drops of any of your favorite essential oils. We like Lemongrass, Sweet Orange Oil, Clary Sage, Sea Buckthorn, Grapefruit, Ylang Ylang, Raspberry Seed.
My eyes are sensitive to Apple Cider Vinegar – can I use water? Yes. If water is the only emulsifier available, the mask will still work effectively, though it may not activate quite as powerfully without ACV. You can also try a 50/50 mix.
Can I use it on my body as well? Definitely. It was formulated to make skin look and feel great. Apply it topically wherever you want, especially on newly-formed scars, as it aids in the healing process and can greatly reduce scar tissue.
What can I use for a moisturizer after applying the mask? I recommend applying The Alitura Moisturizer following The Clay Mask for the perfect healing nourishment. I carefully formulated my Alitura Moisturizer without the addition of preservatives, fillers or emulsifiers. You are getting a bio-active product that is fresh and extremely effective. Some separation may occur so please give it a little shake before use.
What are the benefits of the Alitura Night Cream? The Night Cream hydrates dry and cracked skin. It conditions and repairs sun damaged skin. And it stimulates collagen growth, to help aging skin stay supple.
How long until I see the benefits? Each individual result is different. We look at it as you are building a house, brick by brick, step by step, and taking care of your body from at a cellular level by supporting reduced inflammation and strengthening our immune system.
The Derma Roller
Which size do you recommend I use? We recommend choosing a size based on your experience with derma rolling:
- .25 mm – Beginner
- .5 mm – Intermediate
- 1 mm – Advanced
How often should I replace my Derma Roller? Andy recommends replacing any Derma Roller used on the face after around 10-15 uses to keep treatment as effective as possible.
Do you offer replacement heads? We are looking into it, but not at this time.
How do I clean my Derma Roller? It is very important to sterilize your derma roller between uses. You can do so by using isopropyl alcohol or hydrogen peroxide; we recommend using isopropyl alcohol. Simply submerge your roller in a cup of alcohol for 1 to 5 minutes. You can then let it air dry or shake off the excess liquid prior to use.
