4 Steps to Achieve the Ultimate Shave

How to achieve the ultimate shave

To me, there’s nothing better than a great shave. For so long I battled with razor burn, ingrown hairs and irritation from doing it the wrong way. Over the years I developed a shaving routine that is extremely consistent and effective, here it is below:

1) Exfoliate. I do an Alitura Clay Mask before to help remove dead skin and lift the tiny hairs to allow for a clean stroke from the razor. Hop in the shower to rinse  off, it also opens up the pores.

2) The most important part is the razor. For so long I used Mach 3’s. The tricky thing with multiple blades is that sometimes first hairs that would get cut can get trapped in the head and escorted back into the skin, causing ingrown hairs. Multiple blades directly on your skin is a recipe for irritation, the good thing with the single edge safety razor is that it has a fine tooth-like barrier between the skin and the blade where the only part that touches the skin is the steel, which lifts the hair follicle and the VERY sharp Personna blade wipes it off with precision. No cut, no pull.. it just wipes the hair off. It takes practice though, be careful. Link below.

3) Instead of the toxic, drying shaving cream, I just use a combination of fresh juice from an Aloe Leaf and my Alitura Moisturizer before, during and after my shave. The surface lubrication from the Calendula and Aloe allows the razor to slide through easily. The healing properties of German Blue Chamomile, Carrot Seed and Sea Buckthorn effectively provide instant nourishment for sensitive skin.

4) Finally, finish with a cold water rinse to close the pores. Pat dry. Boom, you’ll be smiling.
